wintertime is the coldest but best enjoyed, when you're sitting by the white-painted windowsill in your thick cable-knit sweater and leg warmers in mauve, grandma's favorite blanket spread over your legs; watching the snow fall on cedars and children build snowmen in the street; their orange carrot noses protruding from the ball of snow that is the head; and all that while you're sipping at your pippin! hot cider, watching the carolers arrive at your door spreading good cheer, watching the neighborhood light up at night when all the christmas lights turn on, watching the gifts sparkle underneath your green, fragrant tree as the little puff-train choochoos around your tree skirt, its headlights gleaming and making sillhouettes on your walls...
